Recent questions to this site remind of the 2 best reasons to attend
BRHS Spring & Annual meets. One, you meet the many members who have
expertise in finite areas of Burlington lore, modeling & collecting.
Two, you get super deals on models, collectibles, etc.
Case in point: an older gentleman was selling off an entire collection
of Burlington books, BRHS publications etc for 1/2 the normal price you
would pay including many o/p books & Bulletins. (example the Goen book
on C&S for $20!) Also models, new & used were going for well below
retail or collector values. Bargains were all over the place (& I
speak as a man proud of his Scottish heritage). So consider this when
you debate coming to Macomb this fall; you can stretch your CB&Q dollar
a LOT further (and expand your Q knowledge) by coming to a meet. Also,
the more who attend, the easier it is to 'sell' other members and
dealers as to why THEY should participate - it's a 'win-win'. So start
making plans now - NONE of us is getting any younger!! Gerald
