Take a look in Chapter six of Granger Country around the middle of the book and
you will see one carried by the depot master. Conductors could have their eyes
shielded from the light by the green part while the clear illuminated the
tickets. Many times these were given to men when they retired as a
presentation lantern and could have their name engraved in the globe in very
fancy letters. There was also other colors over the clear like red, blue, or
amber. Yes, they are very collectible. Archie

Subject: [SPAM][CBQ] conductor¡¯s lantern
I need to issue a correction regarding that old conductor¡¯s lantern
globe. The sequence of colors was green over clear. For anyone wishing
to take a look at that beautiful thing its eBay number is
#200197261242. It is in the completed items section. Would something
like this have been in use at one time on the Q?
