I've been watching the various internet boards for any information
about the MTZ and the move south. It appears as of today (Sunday, 13
January), that the MTZ is still at Relco. I believe that the EJ&E
will make the initial move of the train out the facility ... further
routing from there is anybody's guess.
I for one am happy that, finally, the MTZ appears to have found a
home where it will be taken care of. I obviously would have loved to
have seen the train on Q rails, but after 30+ years with little or no
care, I look forward to seeing the train restored, even if just for
display.
Work permitting, I would like to photograph the move (wouldn't it be
ideal if it came south on the K line?!), any details that I am able
to obtain will be, of course, posted here.
