The CZ through Pullan alternated between the NYC and PRR - I believe the PRR
train was The General, though I'm away from my notes and would have to verify.
But the cars went on bot NYC & PRR. Too, there was a trhough Pullman from the
NYC to the AT&SF, one from the Southern to the SP, several from the PRR to
various UP trains, etc.
You could also (if you knew the system) request space in specific CZ cars by
virtue of using the loading number (CZ-8, CZ-9, CZ-10, etc.). The main
exception were the dome coaches (depending on season and year), as one was
usually restricted to "shorts" - the same service the 16 section cars were
assigned to when they were converted to coaches.
