Years ago I spoke with the son-in-law of the original owner of Northeastern
(who manufactured the Ambroid kits before Gloor Craft made some for them)
about the CB&Q Dynanometer car kit.
He thought that they had some drawings or other documentation beyond the photo
that was used for the advertising that the kit design was based on.
He says he looked for it but could not dig up any files on the subject.
Kerka made a drawing of the car as it existed after it received a steel
underframe and some standard waycar windows, cupola, platform steps on both
ends,
etc...
There is some speculation that there were (or were to have been) more cars
beyond the Z.... X and Y????..... but no evidence of such has surfaced AFAIK.
The Kalmbach Library has a photo of the car with a huge wooded clesestory
without windows that may have housed water tanks after it was put into MOW
service.
