  Gary and listers,
I'd like to mention there was a fine article by Jim Sandrin on modeling
the Q & C&S SD-7 & 9s in Prototype Modeler, December 1978. The cover has an
overall green cast photo of 2 Blackbird SD-9s back to back and pulling a
string of empty hoppers.
You can check your LHS for back issues, I don't know if the current
publishers of PM can help, it was probably a highly popular issue.

A lot of the "how to" info is outdated thanks to P2K fine rendition.
Branchline has announced SDs but so far no Q paint. I talked to Athearn /
Horizon at Trainfest 2 years ago and they said they would reissue the SD7-9s
with the Railpower shell...sometime.

Illinois RR Museum has an SP ( whoever they are ) SD9 running in thier
normal passenger runs and it sounds great.

Can anyone tell me if CB&Q SD9 346 was equipped with a steam generator?
Also did it have a full size fuel tank or just half like some 400 series
SD9's did.
    Thanks for the information!
