According to Equip. Reg. 1/53(reprinted by NMRA) your
NYC 104185 was a XM, 40' Box, 110,000 CZPY, 2955
Cu.Ft. w/side door 6-0 x 7-11. Number group
102500-106999, 3816 cars in group. Just a plain steel
boxcar.
