Austin Western in Aurora was known for it's road graders and other heavy
equipment that shipped daily on the Q. They also built a series of air dump
railroad cars for the Q numbered 202800-202899. These cars we used for many MOW
jobs, and were especially useful with the sleds, ballast cleaners and moving
riprap to washouts,etc.
There's a photo of one in Mike Spoors Q color guide on page 123.
Does anyone know if Austin Western(referred to by us locals as the scrapper
works) supplied these cars to any other road ?
Leo
