Those of you who model CB&Q steam in HO scale will want to be aware that
the "oversize" Burlington Route emblem bug has returned with their
latest run of the Microscale 87-1130 decals.

For those unfamiliar with the 1130 set and its history, it is intended
for all CB&Q steam except the "modern" 4-6-4, 4-8-4 and 2-10-4
steamers. The first run of the decals produced by Microscale in 2001
had Burlington Route tender emblems that were significantly oversize.
This problem was corrected with an April 2002 reprint, but that run has
been sold out at Microscale for some time. They reprinted the set at
some point late last year, but...somehow the original artwork was used
and the decals making their way back into the hobby dealer network are
once again plagued by the herald problem. (The AT&SF C&S lettering is
oversize as well, but fewer of us are affected by that).

I have been in touch with Microscale and made them aware of the
problem. Strangely, the corrected artwork seems to have been lost or
deleted. I've provided them the one good complete sheet I had so that
they can recreate it. On a positive note, they do plan to correct the
sets, but have acknowledged that it may be a while before fixed sets are
available.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but thought fellow Q modelers should
be aware of this to prevent more disappointed buyers like myself.

Kind regards, Rob Adams
