The "files" can be confusing but I just scroll through looking at dates.
For new photos go to groups, sign in, it will then list your groups on
the left, click on "manage" it will take you to "My Groups". Next to the
icon it will list "x" new messages, "x" new files & "x" new photos.
Click on new photos and it will show only the recently posted photos.
