It's only a guess, connection w/NP but also
Yellowstone Park. The Q was not a land grant railroad
like the NP & IC among others. Land grants were not
all that good like everybody thinks. The IC got
alternate 1 square mile parcels. They had to but the
connection parcels at higher prices. NP got land it
could not use (Mt. St. Helens).
