Hello everyone,
I'm nearly finished a model of one of the 50ft XM-33 boxcars, series
CBQ 21000-22749. I'd like to finish the car as it appeared in the
early 1970s, and have the following questions:
1. As built, these cars had a trust plate in the last panel to the
left of the door. Were the trust plates still in place by 1973?
2. A number of these cars were built with National Type B trucks.
Were they still riding on these trucks in 1973 or had they been
replaced, possibly with greater load capacity trucks?
3. This is a long shot, but here goes. In 1973, five cars were in
hide service: CBQ 21154, 21235, 21378, 22371 and 22810. Does anyone
know what paint scheme any of these cars were wearing at that time?
Any insights would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark Heiden
