Chris and list:

Where do you get decals for doing the CB&Q pre-merger freight car green
schemes? The only reference I have seen for it is Kevin's Decals, but a
posting a couple years ago indicated they were out of business. I'd be
interested in helping to develop a sheet with my interest being 40ft box
cars, although I'd like to cover other equipment if the lettering size were
the same.

Does anyone have lettering diagrams and rosters of cars that appeared in the
scheme?

Hi all. I'm just curious why Modelers Choice kit #150007

http://modelerschoi <http://modelerschoice.com/freightcars/kits/150007.htm>
ce.com/freightcars/kits/150007.htm

is listed as good for CBQ XM4 series 47500-47799, but not the
subsequent series 47800-48199 and 48200-48299 (classified as XM4As).
Cars from the later series look identical in sides, ends, and
lettering in photos I've examined (all XMs) and dimensionally are
identical (ORER data), but of course I can't see the roofs or
underbodies. Also I note that in my July 1969 ORER cars from
47500-478299 aggregated into a single listing. I guess this question
boils down to whether anything external separates XM4 from XM4A boxcars.

I'm very impressed with how this kit builds by the way--on the home
stretch on one I'm going to paint pre-BN green ca 1969, and starting
to consider numbering it. Thanks for any info offered....
