[CBQ] Gold found on the Q

Gold was found along the Q right of way in this location(actually before the 
ROW was there). Anyone want to venture a guess?  Be specific as naming a 
region or area is too easy.
I have the source of the information in my hands. It is a highly rated book 
of historical nonfiction on George Custer.
