The nice thing about my job is that sometimes the CB&Q isn't a thing
of the past. This past week, it was a thing of the future. I was
working on an original abstract that is so far back, railroads weren't
on this side of the Mississippi yet. I have been reading deeds so
old, Charles E. Perkins was still a vice-president when I got as far
as the deeds to the CB&Q. The best part is sitting in the office and
hearing SD-70MAC's a few blocks away traveling through the same area I
am working on when the only motive power was a 4-4-0.
