A few years ago I picked up the 6 car set of Walthers reefers lettered for
the Q. While I know they aren't 100% correct, they will stand in well but I
want to paint the roofs since they appear wrong to me.. Looking at the
color guide, they appear closest to (and are numbered for) the 74730-74999
series pictured at the top of page 66. The guide indicates that later cars
had aluminum painted roofs, but I cannot tell this series car roof color.
The Walthers cars have reefer yellow roofs, but the picture looks to be
either mineral red roof or rusted unpainted roof. Any help is appreciated.
