One more time for those who may not know what's going on or need
something to do this weekend in Texas...  

The North Texas Chapter, National Railway Historical Society is hosting
 a fun railfanning activity this coming Memorial Day Weekend and YOU
are invited!

If you like to Watch Trains? Plan on attending our next event...

?24 Hours @ Saginaw?

Come watch trains and have a good time with members of the North Texas
Chapter, NRHS

Our Objective:
Watch and record trains for a 24 hour period.

Our Goal:
Spend 24 hours at the Saginaw Heritage Center (the depot)
at 301 S. Saginaw Blvd. in Saginaw, TX.

Date and Time:
Friday, May 26th & Saturday, May 27th, 2006
7:00pm to 7:00pm, for 24 hours!

Come watch, talk, listen and photograph trains safely while sharing
fellowship and education with like minded railfans and families.  Also,
help us promote the City of Saginaw as a nationally known hot spot to
watch and record trains safely.  It is reported up to 60 trains pass
the Saginaw depot per day!  Plenty to fill your train watching
appetite!

Activities Include:

  Operating Rules on ?How to watch trains safely?.

  A safe area to watch trains.

  Clinic on how to record trains by photo, audio, video and train
logs.

  24 hours of Railroad videos and slide programs.

  Rail Historian to speak.

  Railroad theme games and trivia to help pass the time.

  Railroad Scanner broadcast of approaching trains.

  Fun and More...

Admission is FREE

5:00 pm - Slide Show by Steve Allen Goen - Texas Rail Historian from
Wichita Falls

7:00 pm - Event Ends

More slide shows may be announce at the event.  We will welcome anyone
who would like to show off their stuff (Bring your UP 844 video or
prints from this week).  At some point we will also view the railroad
cars located at the depot, it will be a guided tour announced during
the event.

Everyone is welcome to attend, even if it's just for a few hours.  We
look forward to having you drop by and share some train watching
fellowship with some Rail-fun, Rail-friendly, Rail-fans.
