I'll add to Ruperts comments that BRHS Zephyr #47 included a Data Sheet
with color chips and standards information for CB&Q structures. If
don't already have a copy, I'd encourage you to consider acquiring one.
It definitely provides a starting point for paint colors, though
obviously paint on RR structures along the right-of-way is subjected to
the effects of the elements and other environmental factors depending
upon the era, so will begin to fade and weather in fairly short order.

In my own modeling, I've usually employed the Floquil paints, but find
the RI maroon just a bit pink for structures with fresher paint jobs,
but do think it nicely captures the look of the weathered Q Indian Red
paint especially on steel structures like bridges, water tanks, sheds,
etc. I think the C&NW Green matches pretty well, and is available in a
gloss finish, which has some advantages for some applications. These
are my opinions only. Your mileage may vary...

Best regards, Rob Adams
