I was fortunate enough to get in on a little of the "old" Ravenna during my
braking days on the Lincoln Division in 56-57 and 58.

If I remember correctly waycars were still being changed there, but I know
that they were pooled on the Hastings line, so I may be a little short on
accuracy here...

In 56 a steam engine was still kept at the roundhouse for
"protection"..Seems like it was the 5080 when I was there that summer. There
was a "third
trick" switch engine...my old timebook sez 1:00am-9:00am. There was an
understanding that if a through train was due within 30 minutes of our going
off duty
(9:00am) that the crew had to be held (on overtime) to make the waycar
change.

Got a few more things to add, but wife is forcing me out the door right now
on an urgent matter, so I'll leave you guys..clamoring for more till I get
back and finish this up.

Pete
