If you go to the show, look for Midwest Mod-U-Trak's modular railroad (4 BRHS
members), a few contest winning models on the modules, Princeton Interlock,
some trucks, freightcars, varnish, Zephyrs, steam, the BRHS table and hang out
at the back door of the gym. There is a smaller modular layout that has a fine
kitbash of Silver Charger that must be seen and don't forget The Little Q's
portable railroad too.
A minute walk from Stone Ave. station, the triple track mainline and an Italian
deli that has a mural and photos of the Lagrange interburban that's worth
seeing. Now this would count as a Q posting.
Also worth the trip is visiting Bill Denton's Kingsbury Street N-Scale
switching district. Yes it's Milwaukee Road but they did get along with the Q.
There is also some interrestig Hi-Rail, British HO, and live steam. It's still
my favorite show and if you've never gone because it's too far or you live on
the south side or you're from Rochelle, it's no excuse. There is some neat
stuff to see or show your newbie neighbor your hobby.
Thanks Mike for the reminder.
The show runs from 9 to 5.
Shamelessly plugging MMUT,
Rob Manley
