Apparently, there is some sort of incompatibility between his system
and mine. He is aware of the problem and offers suggestions,

Keith the 'problem' is a well known feature [meaning actual standard
way to work] of the web and that is that browsers (i.e. I-E ! and
others) are only made to read .jpg (jay-pegs) and .gif (giff) files.

The file in question and most others on that site are .tif (Tagged
Information Format blah..) which is a proper graphic, high resolution
format (usually) that CAN be printed at high res and scale (usually
when properly created) on anyone's printer.

How to get that file? Manually scour the directory. Remove the file
name <i.tif> from the url; if that gives you the 'page' it is on;
select the file as a download and save it to your pc. If the directory
path doesnt work, or server doesnt allow you, remove the next portion
of the path <EILN/> and so on until you get a readable 'text or html'
page.

This will save hours of aggravation and you will ocassionally locate
hidden treasure (but that's just between you and me...)
regards
dave
