There have been quite a few O-5 models made in the past, but Sunset Models has
announced a series of low priced HO models, including a full range of Q O-5s
and O-5a/b with sound around $700 MSRP. I have a number of Sunset HO models,
which are not as detailed as other models I have, but a little kitbashing with
detail parts could fix that. One of my favorite Q models is a Sunset S-4
hudson with parts to detail most prototypes except 4001 with vestibule cab.
You can check with most good brass dealers or with Sunset at www.3rdrail.com,
click on HO and scroll down to the bottom of the listing. I also have several
O-5 models made by NJ Custom Brass and Oriental Limited with much detail, but
you would have to do some searching with the brass dealers and probably pay a
higher price than $700 without sound. The NJ Custom Brass is an older model
and would probably sell for a lower price than the Oriental Limited, but it
will require some searching.
