For those of you interested in Burlington rolling stock, the latest
issue of Railway Prototype Cyclopedia (#12) has two features that may
appeal. First, there is a lengthy piece on the CB&Q's wood and
composite automobile box cars. The article, done by Hol Wagner, Al
Hoffman and Bat Masterson, includes many excellent photos and plenty of
information for modelers and historians alike. The second article,
authored by Bill Welch, Ed Hawkins and Pat Wider covers the WWII period
FGEX, WFEX and BREX reefers, again with many photos and prototype
information. Both features are well-done. There's also a very
interesting article on track scales and weighing freight cars. Not
specific to the Burlington, but certainly relevant.
You may be able to find this issue available at some larger hobby shops,
or it may be ordered direct through the following web site:

I can highly recommend this publication.
Kind regards, Rob
