For those interested, Silver Bridle was in New Orleans
during the hurricane, but apparently
made it through all right. I was informed that the
water got as high as the bearings and it
will need new wheelsets, but that is all.
The Silver Bridle was acquired last year by the Mt.
Dora & Lake Eustis Railway (a Florida
operation), which had the car in New Orleans for
refurbishing. However, their website (http://
mtdorarailway.com) now says they are closed down. I
don't know if the weather got them, or
it's financial or what. Not sure if it's permanent
either. I don't know what this might mean for
the future of Silver Bridle.
Does anyone have any info?
Allan
