The modern cabooses that we used on the Soo Line were set up for 12
volts. On one of the trucks should be a bracket for an alternator to
be mounded and belts running to one of the wheels. They would have a
pulley attached to the end cap of the rollerbearing. And there were
several deep cycle batteries in a storage closet for power.
