My latest recording of them is as at May 1967, and they had gone by May 1968
(page dates). However the ORER listings for these cars don't agree exactly
with some of the information in the Bulletin.
The first listing I have for 50000-50149 is August 1960 (I believe they were
first listed in May 1960) with 93 cars with an inside length of 40' 3". By
November 1960 there were 140 cars shown, and this recording was constant
until August 1964 when the number series was changed to 50000-50139. By
this time, the number of cars had dropped by one to 139 and this quantity
remained until after May 1965. By February 1966, the number of cars had
dropped to 118 and was down to 60 cars by August 1966, as it was as at May
1967.
The other group of cars, 50200-50239, were 50' inside length. The first
listing I have is 22 cars as at February 1966 (so I guess their first
listing would have been in November 1965), and by August 1966 there were 40
cars in this group. The last listing I have for these cars is also May 1967.
Throughout the whole period from 1960 to 1967, damage reports for these cars
were to be sent to North American Car Corp. which purchased Mather in 1960.
