Hi Troops,

I have been talking with a member of the HO vehicle list about
Burlington Truck Lines. As some of you may have seen in the magazines,
Athearn is coming out with some Mack trucks. From a 1959 reprint of a
BTL magazine I picked up at a BHRS meet a few years back, Burlington had
some of these Mack B Model truck tractors. Athearn is looking for
possible paint schemes for these trucks and what better addition than
our beloved ?Q?. The moderator of the vehicle list has connections with
Athearn and I?ve sent him what info I have on these trucks. The reprint
photo I have is in black and white and a bit fuzzy.

I have three requests. First, does anyone on the list have any photos
of BTL Mack B model truck tractors they could make available for this
project? I would be happy to purchase reprints or slides of these or
any other Burlington trucks. It would especially be beneficial to have
a side shot that shows the ICC data on the doors.

Second, does anyone have or know of the actual paint colors used on
Burlington trucks? From the limited number of photos I?ve seen, it
appears that the truck line used a red other than Chinese red( it looks
a bit darker to me). Knowing how cost efficient the company was my
guess is that they used a standard fleet red provided by Mack.

Third, does anyone have any rosters of equipment, either tractors or
trailers, from the 50?s or 60?s?

This truck model could be another great addition to modelers of the 50?s
and 60?s so any help I can get is appreciated.

Thank you.
