Bill,
I never thought about the design of the radiators. But I agree, I'm glad Budd
or the Burlington changed the origonal shape of the grill. I always thought
the curve looked really fine. There's another story about that curve as well,
in the early 1930's there was a woman's hat that had a curve in the front over
the face, it was called the beetle brow. And the designers at Budd copied that
curve for the "face" of the Zephyr.
I also always thought when the Q started buying E's off the shelf so to
speak, they used the intake grills and whindshields of the shovel noses.
