Rob,
Thanks for the info. That will get me a good start. I was looking for info
on converted PMC's and RPO/baggage/combines that may have been used on the
O'Neil branch and the South Sioux City (Ferry) Ashland, NE line. Thanks
again

Hi;

If you can be more specific about what you are looking for, it should be
pretty easy to direct you toward the answers.

Here's a start...

The best references for heavyweight Q passenger equipment remains Bill
Glick's two books, which I believe are still available directly from
him. His books do not contain many photos, but there is a thorough
roster and drawings/diagrams of most equipment. (You'll probably want
both as one is the roster with numbering history, and the other is the
drawings)

Some info about combines converted from PMC's (Passenger Motor Cars,
gas-electrics or "doodlebugs" as some call them) may be found in several
sources, including The Burlington in Transition, a set of Passenger Car
Diagrams published previously by Railway Production Classics. A roster
of these has been assembled by Rupert Gamlen and is available on the
BRHS web site.

Waycar combines are covered in the long out of print Waycars of the CB&Q
book by Holbrook & Lorenz, and will presumably also be discussed in the
upcoming Waycars book by Milepost 206 Publishing.

Photos of various equipment have been published in several books as well
as issues of the Burlington Bulletin and Zephyr. Rupert Gamlen's index
on the BRHS web site might provide you with specific issue references.

Kind regards, Rob Adams
