The CB&Q would never have let those cars off the property.....a little
paint, new floor tile, maintenance of the brake system, etc... and you would
have cars that are better than the Metra cr*p that replaced them.
No doubt in time we will see another wreck of Naperville proportion where
the lessons of the past will be given again, but ingnored with some
politically correct excuse given for the loss of life..... look at any
foreign train wreck to see what happens to cars that aren't designed to the
old CB&Q standards.....they hold up about as well as the Silver Inn did.
