Russ,
That was a great report. I was down that way this summer and camped at the
Rock Creek Station State Historical Park. It's known for the Oregon Trail wagon
train ruts but the old Wymore line crosses through it too. It pained me to see
the rails disassembled. For anyone interested its just north and east of
Endicott NE. It's a great place to be if you want to check out the local
railroad
history and have a 5th wheel or RV.
What did my heart good, was to see the two story Rock Island depot in
Fairbury looking very well preserved. If anyone is ever in the area of
Fairbury,
Beatrice or Crete there is a lot of check out on CB&Q, UP and Rock Island.
Thanks again Russ,
Scott Arnold
