The marker lamps were hung on metal brackets attached to all four corners of
the caboose. They needed to be seen from the back, side and front and they also
needed to be changed from one side to the other in order to show green to the
rear when parked on a siding in the clear of other trains. I have a 1951 rule
book and rule # 18 explains just how they should be displayed. John Trulson

Along similar lines, I'd be curious how the marker lights were attached
to the waycar. Were they just hung from a hook, or mounted on a
bracket? How are folks modeling this?

  Hello all,

just a quick question for the modelling types. I am working on
  an AMB
  Waycar kit.

Anyone have any luck trying to light those tiny marker lamps ?

My thought was an led inside feeding a fiber-optic, the marker
  lamp
would then be drilled for the fiber. But I have never worked
  with
fiber optic lines. Should I order some and get fooling, or just
  forget
  it ?

  Steve
