Reading through the article again, Hol makes the point on page 48 that "No
record has surfaced of what sort of scale test cars the Q employed in the
early 1900's, but in June 1916 the railroad ordered one of the AC&F cars"
(204738). That should now be amended to "Until 2004 when Rob looked too
closely at a set out, no record had surfaced.................."
The co-incidence of the numbering of the first car suggests that it was a
predecessor to 204738 (what happened to 204737) and, based on the article,
it would have been home-built as AC&F and Southwark only started producing
these cars in the second decade of the century. The only other car I can
find reference to in the same numbering area is dynamometer 204725.
The other car, 207989, is in a number series used for tool cars of various
types (flats, boxes, etc.)
