All,
A little burned out today. This is an attitude adjustment.
One Operator, C.D. Hutchinson was kind enough to do a good
job on engine numbers. Here is the block sheet for the
shift mentioned in subject line.
Train numbers:
1 thru 59 = Passenger
60 thru 100 = Freight
200 thru 299 = Dinkies
My notes are in brackets. This is bi-directional triple
track ABS run on signal indication. Operators controlled
current of traffic between towers. Tower to the West at
Aurora, tower to the East at Eola. At West Eola were
entrances to both yards and lead to Hill Yard. At this
time Downers Grove was still in operation so these are
only the Dinkies that operated beyond that terminal.
Nothing fancy here, will just list Westbound and then
Eastbound. Quit here if not interested. Times are all p.m.
Westbound:

Eastbound:

it's probable that these two were pulled

this date. To Eola for servicing and held
for next morning's "Parade".]
24 = 9945B = 1017 [On different track!]
Sw Eng = 9222 = 1104
Ind Job = 518 = 1118 [0-6-0]
262 = 9941B = 1130
88 = 150 = 1136
General comment. Note that steam was used on industry jobs where
it would only be needed for one crew. Yard jobs got diesels since
there would be three crews. This, at least, was plan but did not
always work out that way.
