Chuck Zeiler is working on several SD locomotives for MS Train simulator and
would like to know why the Q chose to have bars installed at the locomotive
cross-overs, a place where you would normally see drop down steps and safety
chains. This was a swing-down bar hinged on side of the railing, with a
u-shaped receptacle fitted onto the other railing. It had just enough
side-to-side movement to allow it to be raised out of the receptacle, moved
backward, and drop down along side of the railing to allow crossing from
loco to loco. Anybody out there ever hear why?
Please remember to cc Chuck with your replies.
Dave
