Several Amtrak trains from Chicago (& points N & E) to G'burg with
the CZ getting there @ 5:00 pm - I can meet a couple of you & ferry
to hotels on Fri p.m. as tentatively will be meeting my son @ G'burg
depot that evening as he's coming from D.C. via Amtrak with the CZ
connection. You can also come into G'burg from SW (St. Louis, etc
various trains) or W (CZ & SW Chief). Except for Chicago itself, no
other BRHS meet site has more Amtrak trains (off hand anyway!)
For those driving from points west, gas in Iowa is less than Illinois.
Check gasbuddy.com for best prices no matter what route you take - I
use it for business & pleasure trips to get best prices in unfamiliar
territory.
