The first-ever St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modeler's
Meet is coming up on Saturday, August 21st at the Katy
Cavins Recreation Center, 308 East 5th Street,
O?Fallon, IL 62269. O?Fallon is about 18 miles east
of downtown St. Louis by I-55/70 and I-64 in St. Clair
County.
The Cavins center, which has a 5800 sq. ft. main area,
will be filled to capacity with 42+ reserved tables
for attendees models, plus 30+ tables for vendors and
9 tables for area historical societies. Historical
societies attending include MoPac, CNW, CB&Q, IT, Soo
and PRR.
In addition to the model displays, presentations and
demonstrations by nationally-recognized modelers and
railroad historians from the St. Louis area are
scheduled. Speakers include Ed Hawkins (EMD F-unit
history), David Jobe, Sr. (IT RR and Modeling in Proto
87), Dan Kohlberg (Modeling IC Covered Hoppers), Jack
Spencer (Superdetailing Freight Cars), Dave Davis
(Prototype Track Modeling), Pat Wider (Modeling
Pullman Heavyweight Sleepers), John Lee (Badger
Airbrush Demo), John Welther (Modeling Diesels) and
Chris Thies (FreeMo HO Modular RR Introduction).
Come out and join us!
Hours for this one-day event are 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM.
Set up begins at 7:45. Presentations begin at 10:45
