Yes, you could have boarded a CB&Q train in Edgemont in the early
60's & ridden in the company of a potbelly stove sitting on a bench -
namely the mixed to Lead/Deadwood which used sidedoor waycar 14560.
It had 2 or 3 old passenger seats but also the usual benchs (tool
boxes with cushion tops) on either side of the car. I know, I once
owned it! When ret'd by BN & sold to me in "75 it still had the
stove but the seats had been removed with the end of passenger
service. The cushioned "benches" remained though & still partially
