Rupert,

The BN Equipment Book #1 dated Sep-1970 lists the following
slumbercoaches:

NP 325- 334
CB&Q 335- 336
CB&Q 4900-4903

Other North Coast Limited equipment of interest:

Dome Sleeper Buffet Lounge

NP 375- 379
CB&Q 380

Dome Sleepers

CB&Q 305
SP&S 306
NP 309-310,313

Travelers Rest Cars

NP 494-498
CB&Q 499

If we can draw the conclusion that the CB&Q equipment was
in it's own number series and the North Coast Limited and
Empire Builder was in it's own it would appear that the
CB&Q had a good size stake in the North Coast Limited.
Of course I can't really connect these numbers up with
trains so that may not be correct. What number series were
the Denver and California Zephyr cars in?

  Tom

According to some photocopied pages I have (origin not known), NP had a
total of 4 slumber coaches (#325-328 Lochs Sloy, Leven, Lomond and Ness)
delivered new in 1959 (plus 8 second hand in 1964) for the North Coast
Limited. As the train had 5 consists at that time, a cycle was devised
combining these four cars with two Burlington-owned Slumbercoaches. A car
arriving Chicago in the NCL would be switched to the Denver Zephyr, and vice
  versa.

I believe that the Q also had a total of four Slumbercoaches - #4900-4903
Siesta, Slumber, Rest and Repose delivered in 1956 for the Denver Zephyr.
There is no mention that these were painted in NP colours unlike the chair
  cars, dining car and sleepers.
