[CBQ] Iowa Traction Railroads - Cedar Rapids

Hello Everyone,
 
Please forgive the cross post.   Officers and members of the Cedar Rapids 
(Iowa) Area Railfan Association along with the Ushers Ferry Historical Village 
will be hosting their 17th Annual "Ushers Ferry Trains Day" this Sunday June 6, 
2004 from 11am-5pm.   This year the theme is Iowa's Traction Railways
. 
Throughout the day there will be a small outdoor swap meet with railroad 
memorabilia and model railroad supplies.  The Cedar Rapids Garden Railway 
Society 
"G" scale club will have a display, a switching layout demonstration, and the 
"Train Doctor" will be on hand to assist with broken model trains.  In 
addition, there will be slide / video presentations by area railroad historians 
on 
various traction roads of Iowa.   

If you have any items pertaining to Iowa's traction railways you wish to 
display or swap, bring them along.  Tables are available for the swap meet.

For the non-railroader in the family, Ushers Ferry is located in Cedar 
Rapids, Iowa.  It is a historical village that consists of a number of old 
buildings 
assembled into a replica town of the 1800's.  All of the buildings will be 
open for self guided tours.   Concessions will be available on the grounds.  
Families of all ages are welcome.      
 
Ushers Ferry is accessible from Interstate 380 by exiting off at 42nd street. 
Turn west to Seminole Valley Road and follow the signs.   Admission is $4.00 
for adults.  Children 5-14 $2.00.  Under free.  For information contact Darren
