No dynamic brake lever.
Selector controls transition, selects dynamic braking,
and shuts engine down. When in dynamic braking throttle
controls dynamic brake amperage.
Manual transition not that old fashioned. GN SDP40's were
equipped with manual transition selector lever with all
functional positions because they still had F3's in
service without automatic transition.
WP removed automatic transition from F3's and F7's for
better train handling. PGE was still buying manual
transition RS18's in early 60's.
