I am looking for information on Rochelle and Oregon, IL around the 1940's. I
know that the Burlington served a lot of food production companies in Rochelle,
and that the line Through Rochelle was dual trackage, but some parts of the old
C&I line were single track until the line joined the track from East Moline at
Savanna, IL.
I also know that the Great Northern and Northern Pacific both let the Q take
their crack passenger trains from St. Paul to Chicago on the CB&N and C&I
trackage. I have Mike Spoor's CB&Q In Color Volume 1, but the book lightly
covers the Chicago-Minneapolis line, so I am wondering if the other CB&Q in
Color books cover this line more thoroughly?
