Russ - thanks for providing info that at last 1st part, if not all of
trip, was powered by an R4 or R5. (There is the stock pic of class
engine 2050 in the brochure also as you know).
The trip was 337 miles with lots of stops inc. a 1/4 miles hike to
see Bailey Falls between Ticona & Dickinson a few miles SE of Oglesby.
That line from Streator to LaSalle was abandoned many moons ago & is
rugged country - don't recall ever seeing photos of action on that
branch.
To share a bit of what the Q was up to in "41 per the booklet:
Eola - Here all unservicable tools, matl's & equipment ranging from
track bolts to loco's & steelcars are either scrapped, re'mfg or
turned into things ranging from steel bldgs to icepicks. All items
lab tested before lv'g the reclaim plant that employed 140 @ the time
(& handled 72,000 tons of scrap per yr)
Clyde - Up-to-dte engine house & shop for switch & terminal frt power.
33 stalls with 163 men servicing an average of 30 loco's per day.
Heavy servicing for power on the 854 mi R/T St. Paul run & 475 one-
way run to Pac Jct. Equipment includes a 200 ton crane, power plant,
coal chute, etc.
