I'm visiting the U.S for about two weeks in April in order to attend the BRHS
Spring Meet in Oregon, Il. over the weekend of 17 April, and using the rest of
my time for some "research" (as in visiting rail museums and exhibits, viewing
restored equipment, etc.)
Other than the compulsory pilgrimage to Burlington and a visit to the IRM, can
anyone suggest places worth visiting in that general area of Illinois, southern
Wisconsin, or Iowa? Does anyone know of any open days, railroad shows, swap
meets during April (I haven't made any decisions on which fortnight as yet).
Also, has anyone used the Newberry Library in Chicago for research of Q
material? Are there any other libraries I should consider?
Looking forward to the Meet, to put faces to names.
Rupert
