In the files section of the CBQList is some excellent information
concerning Q steam locomotive lettering information. The text portion
of that information indicates that in later years, the large tender
heralds used on O-5, S-4s and M-4s could be scotchlite with white
lettering and striping instead of the traditional gold leaf. I have two
questions.
1. I have never seen a photo of any of these three classes with white
lettering on the herald. Does anyone have one and can they share it? I
would particularly be interested in an O-5 so lettered.
2. If the herald lettering was white, what color was the rest of the
locomotive lettering; i.e. cab sides and rear of the tender?
