5600-5607 were built by Baldwins as O-5, believed that none converted to
O-5-A
5608-35 built at Burlington as follows
5608-10 built 1936 (O-5)
5611-20 built 1937 (O-5)
5621-25 built 1938 (O-5-A)
5626-35 built 1940 (O-5-A)
Believed that all 5608-35 upgraded to O-5-A by the addition of light weight
rods, roller bearings and box-pok drivers
Some were converted to oil burning and reclassified as O-5-B "in about 1950"
(I can't find a specific date range, but the earliest reference I have to an
O-5-B is 1951) I'll leave it to the experts to explain the reason for the
conversions.
Identified as O-5-B are 5614, 5620, 5626, 5627, 5629, 5632. There is a plan
of one in Model Railroader July 1970
Hope this helps
Rupert
