I work with another engineer, Jay Hunger, who has told me in the past that the Burlington (and it's successor) has kept members of his family employed over 100 years. He didn't start work for the RR until after the merger, but he did work "Q" lines in Wyoming. I noticed the caption under one of the pictures in the latest BB indicated engineer "G. Hunger" was at the controls that summer day in 1940. So I showed him the Bulletin. Almost instantly an ear-to-ear grin and the words, "My dad's Uncle Gerald. . ." He got a kick out of it. Really made his day! Bill Jelinek [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Your use of Yahoo! Groups is subject to http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/ |
