The BJRY has moved in two former Louisville & Indiana GP16's (Ex-
CSX). I have seen them used paired up and as single motors several
times. They seem to go to work in the afternoon and move cars up to
the old yard for interchange with the BNSF. Real nice 5 chime horns
on the motors, almost sounds like Amtrak #347 on the riverfront. Took
pictures of the brown C415 in West Quincy but have not checked the
east industrial area for it.
Kinda funny, they leased this trackage to a shortline that uses 1-2
Geeps on one trick a day where BNSF used two motors day in and day
out. My sources tell me BNSF is still going to have three tricks for
their switch engine in West Quincy, seems to me allot of dead time
with out the switching over in Quincy(Would the Q have done such a
thing?).
Traffic on the riverfront ranges from 5-15 cars a day, don't know
about the east side, will have to check it out.
Now if we could get them talked into painting those Geeps "Blackbird"
we just might have ourselves a nice little outfit (I'll be the first
to volunteer for painting them).
