Gerald,

Signode did not have their own cars. Their Chicago/Midwest factory
and warehouse were in the industrial area along C&NW's Yard 9,
which is the receiving yard for Proviso. Shipped to coopering
locations like Lincoln and Dilworth in whatever 50' common box
the C&NW supplied them. Consignee would be the WWIB.

The paper doors had metal banding that ran thru slots in the paper
and were actually harder to remove than wood doors. Anyone with
a big foot and good boots could remove a wooden door. Once a nail
went thru those steel bands it was not that easy and most Customers
did not even try.
