Specifically Jan "58 thru Dec 60. 23 foreign roads had 29 cars with UP (1
explosives) & GN @ 3 ea; C&NW (1 grain from Sioux City), Milw & GM&O 2 ea;
and 1 ea from SOU, DT&I, FW&D (bagged sugar to Morrell's), SP (lbr), B&M, CN
(bagged sugar), AT&SF, N&W, D&RGW (Mdse from Denver), Wab (roofing material
from Ft. Morgan, CO), PRR (bagged feed), MP, NYC, C&O & BAR (lettuce had to
be transloaded due to hot box). One of the Milw's was also unloaded due to
pulled drawbar. The unique foreign car was a UP head end car #1459 off
train #8 loaded with mail that had to be transloaded due to hot box.
Private owners & RR refrig lines included 9 owners with 20 cars: StLRefrig
(Budweiser) with 4; PFE (1 cheese from Chariton), Morrell & DSD* 3 ea; and
2 ea from National (1 loaded @ Alliance), GATX (1 anhydrous leak), ART (1
cheese from Chariton) and 1 ea from GARX (tin cans from Sharon Steel) &
Santa Fe Refrig (cantaloupes). *DSDX was Schlitz Beer reporting mark (I
would have expected JSX for Joseph Schlitz).
CB&Q had 16 cars sealed but only 1/2 were frt. There were 4 Burlington
Transportation truck trailers (#5259, 6336 plus 5737 on consecutive days as
it sat in yard) on TTX flats; 2 MoW (209008 & 207378) and the unique one,
headend car #900 (4th car on train #3) & express car #8787. Frt cars
included 9031 with paper, 35266 involved in a derailment 7-28-59; 30693 with
bagged plaster, 37043 (co. msde partially unloaded @ frt house for lantern
batteries!) and a stock car, # not given, with sheep unloaded & reloaded.
